This was a double-wing hospital with a two-story administration entrance, grand canopy entryway for the Emergency Department, and a curved-sloping pedestrian bridge that connected the new building to an existing parking garage across the highway. The challenging part of this project was the pedestrian bridge and figuring out how to detail this so that Schuff Steel could erect the bridge in the single weekend that did not involve either a home football or basketball game. The project was located in the downtown area, and the highway was heavily trafficked, especially on game nights.
