Structural Steel Detailer
Must have a solid background in steel detailing. Minimum three years experience modeling with Tekla Structures. Computer programming abilities a major plus
Role
As a Steel Detailer, you will leverage Tekla Structures to help with connecting and scrubbing on multiple projects. You will demonstrate strong communication skills as you work with our clients, write RFIs (Requests for Information), and coordinate with project managers.
Responsibilities
- Connecting and working within Tekla on a given model for a specific job
- Checking own work within the model for compliance with contract documents
- Writing effective RFIs (requests for information)
- Some communication with clients (phone & email)
- Production control – assisting the PM with schedule management
- Work with the checker to correct errors in the model
- Study and complete practice tests to become NISD Class 2 Certified when eligible
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in structural steel detailing
- Associates Degree
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures
- Familiar with AISC fabrication standards and connections.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Applied Sciences of Drafting Technologies
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to effectively prioritize to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent projects.
Senior Structural Steel Detailer
Must have a solid background in steel detailing. Minimum five years experience modeling with Tekla Structures. Computer programming abilities a major plus
Role
As a Senior Steel Detailer, you will assist the project manager and take the lead as a senior modeler and connector. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills as you work with our clients, write RFIs (Requests for Information), and coordinate with project managers.
Responsibilities

Checker
Responsible for checking all aspects of a job for quality control. 10+ years related experience in the structural steel industry required. Ideal candidate will have experience with Tekla Structures.
Role
As a Checker, you will manage and control the final product for quality assurance, meeting the customer standards.
Responsibilities
- Checks drawings for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standard drafting practices and company standards
- Mentor and teach the project managers, project coordinators, and drawing control managers
- Writing effective RFIs (requests for information)
- Assist project manager in pre-job setup
- Assist with macro and custom component setup
- Assist PM with change orders and delay notifications
- At times, oversee the management of employees assigned to a specific project
- Additional responsibilities, as directed by the Director of Operations
Minimum qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in structural steel detailing
- Strong knowledge of the AISC fabrication standards and connections
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Applied Sciences of Drafting Technologies
