This project for the United States Postal Service illustrated a giant joist and tilt-up wall project. From an overall steel tonnage perspective, the project used only 540 tons of structural steel, but it had over 7,000 tons of joists and joist girders, and there were literally a million embeds all over its tilt walls. All of these embeds had to be detailed and located on the final erection drawings. The size and scope of this project was very different from what we typically do, but well within the skill set of our draftsmen.
